Privacy Policy for Minimail

Minimail is a Chrome extension that customizes the Gmail interface by hiding or adjusting selected UI elements. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension accesses, stores, and shares.
Information We Collect
Minimail does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, message content, contacts, or attachments.
The extension stores only user preference data needed for functionality, such as:
- UI toggle settings (for example, hide logo or hide footer)
- Layout preferences (for example, mail list width)
- Optional custom CSS selectors you enter
How Information Is Used
Stored settings are used only to apply your chosen Gmail UI customizations when you use the extension.
Where Information Is Stored
Settings are stored using Chrome’s chrome.storage.sync API. This means:
- Your settings are saved in your browser profile
- If Chrome sync is enabled, settings may sync across your signed-in Chrome browsers via Google
Minimail does not operate its own external database or server for this data.
Data Sharing and Sale
Minimail does not sell, rent, or trade your data.
Minimail does not share your settings or Gmail content with third parties, except as required by Chrome’s built-in sync functionality and applicable law.
Network and External Transfers
Minimail does not send your Gmail content or extension settings to developer-controlled servers.
Permissions
Minimail uses:

These permissions are used only for extension features described above.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your settings remain stored until you:
- Change or reset them in the extension UI
- Remove the extension
- Clear Chrome extension data (including synced extension data, if applicable)
Security
Minimail is designed to minimize data use and store only functional settings. No method of storage is completely secure, but the extension limits stored data to reduce risk.
Children’s Privacy
Minimail is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the effective date at the top of this document.
