New Tab Calendar (Chrome extension) · Last updated: March 22, 2026

This policy describes how the New Tab Calendar extension (“the extension”) handles information when you install and use it. The extension is designed to work entirely on your device and does not send your calendar data or personal information to servers operated by the extension’s developer.

What the extension does

The extension replaces Chrome’s new tab page with the current time and date, and—if you choose to sign in—with a read-only view of upcoming events from your Google Calendar account. You can choose which calendars to include and how many days ahead to load.

Information accessed through Google

If you sign in with Google, the extension uses OAuth 2.0 to request the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly. It uses Google’s services to:

Those requests go directly between your browser and Google’s servers (for example www.googleapis.com, accounts.google.com, and Google’s token revocation endpoint when you sign out). Google’s handling of your data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and your Google account settings.

Data stored on your device

The extension stores the following only locally in your browser (on your device):

No calendar contents or tokens are uploaded to infrastructure run by the extension developer for analytics, advertising, or backup.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the extension.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the extension’s behavior or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when that happens. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
